Each year the local chapter of La Sociedad Espanola recognizes an outstanding student of Spanish at each of the top local schools. The student does not have to be a senior to receive this recognition. Because La Sociedad Espanola only presents this award at selected schools, the award recognizes not only the student's exceptional performance, but also the strength of Country Day's overall Spanish program. 

National Spanish Exams 
Over 120,000 students at the top schools in the United States take the National Spanish Exam each year. The test is given at five different levels, and it is comprised of listening, reading, and writing. The National Spanish Exam does not provide national rankings; therefore, the highest rankings are the State Placements which outrank the Recognition Awards of Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention.
