List of 3 items.

  • Applying to Pre-K through Grade 5

Once you have submitted an application, the following will need to be completed before your child's file is ready for review by our Admission Committee:

    • A signed Records Release Form:  Using this form, the admission office will request a confidential teacher recommendation form from your child's current school as well as transcript and any standardized testing your child may have had. You can access the Records Release Form on your applicant's admission checklist once your application has been processed, or you can download it from the Admission Downloads area on this page. For applications to Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten, a member of our admission staff will visit your child's preschool (if allowed) in order to observe your child "in action" in an environment that is familiar and secure to your child.

    • Required Testing: Depending on the grade level to which they are applying, the following testing is required.

Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4: Applicants will be invited to participate in a developmental assessment to be given at Country Day. The Admission Office will call you to schedule this evaluation.

Grade 5: Applicants who do not have current ERB scores will be required to take the  Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). You must register for this test in advance through their website, by clicking here (please see the ISEE testing letter in the sidebar for more details).  This test will be given on several dates at Country Day, or you can take it at another location. All sites and dates will be listed on the ISEE website. There is a fee associated with this testing, and that price increases if you do not register at least three weeks in advance of the testing date.

    • Current school records: For applicants to Grades K-5, we will require your child's current school records after their first semester. These are obtained by Country Day's Admission Office using your signed Records Release Form.
    • A campus visit: All applicants will be required to participate in a campus visit. The details for these visits vary depending on the grade level to which your child is applying. Once you've applied, you can register for your visit online through the applicant's checklist. Although not required, parent participation in an Open House is encouraged.
  • Applying to Grades 6-12

    • Required Testing: Standardized testing for all applicants is required. Acceptable standardized tests include the SSAT, ERB, or Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). The ISEE will be given on several dates at Country Day, or you can take it at another location. All sites and dates will be listed on the ISEE website. Online information sessions are archived on our website and will feature detailed information about academic and extracurricular experiences.  We offer on-campus tours and student spend-a-days where students visit classes and can complete their required interview and writing sample. You will be able to sign up for both through CD Connect from the candidate's checklist after Labor Day.
  • Scheduling Tours & Visits

On-campus tours and events are available during the admission season. You will be able schedule a tour or visit through the candidate's checklist once you have inquired or applied online. You can also call (504) 849-3110 or email admissions@mpcds.com to request a visit.
I was blown away by how much care and attention we were given during the admission process.
