US Fall Show: CHICAGO

Metairie Park Country Day School presents CHICAGO: High School Edition

The longest-running American musical in Broadway history comes to Country Day! This November, live performances return to Weinmann Auditorium after a two-year absence with our production of CHICAGO: High School Edition. Set in the Jazz Age 1920s, CHICAGO takes the format of a vaudeville show to tell a musical story of murder, corruption, celebrity, and "All That Jazz." In our contemporary world of twisted justice and internet fame, this satire of villainy repackaged as entertainment may be more relevant than ever. The original Broadway production premiered in 1975, ran for 936 performances, and earned nominations for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. In 1996, CHICAGO returned to Broadway in a new production that is now in its 25th year of performances, making it the longest-running American musical in history.

CHICAGO: High School Edition has been specially adapted to be appropriate for young performers and audiences. Some material may still be sensitive for younger viewers. Please use your discretion.

Our production features the talents of Charlie Antis, Minnie Mae August, EmmaJane Bauer, Emma Bellaire, Dominic Dazet, Julia Drago, Anna Hayne, Chloe Jones, Nicole Kazour, Mia Luparello, Julia Mueller, Collin Neece, Harry Odem, Elise Claire Palmisano, Christian Rodriguez-Fierro, Marguerite Schwarz, Genesis Scott, Henry Thompson, Jane Thompson, William Varisco, Nick Witte, Lauren Wright, and Sophie Wyatt.
