About

Head's Welcome

Mission

Metairie Park Country Day School enriches the lives of talented young people in a dynamic learning environment, building strength of intellect and strength of character within a community that is simultaneously challenging and supportive. Our students learn to be flexible, to be adaptable, and to face the challenges of life with honor, optimism, confidence, creativity, and a sense of humor.

Welcome from Matt Neely

Welcome to Metairie Park Country Day School, a non-sectarian coeducational Pre-K-12 school located on 14-acres in beautiful Metairie, Louisiana, minutes away from New Orleans. “Country Day” as we call it, is a joyful place, filled with thoughtful, passionate adults united in creating a supportive and challenging community for young people.

At Country Day, we understand that children learn best in an environment that is both academically demanding and appropriately supportive, so we have carefully created a rigorous academic program in the context of a committed and caring community. We encourage independence, foster critical thinking, and train our students to open their minds to limitless possibilities.

We are also a proud school community, conscious of our long standing traditions, our appetite for innovation, and our collegiality. Specific traditions like a common Dining Room, grouping of K-1-2 students, and our Faculty Fellows program emblematize our community traits as do many other features of our school.

It is my sincere hope that you spend a few moments perusing this website to see text and images that show our efforts to live our mission and actualize our values.

Sincerely,

Matt Neely
