Senior Dylan Simmons Signs with Arkansas Tech to Play Football

Country Day senior Dylan Simmons has officially signed to play football at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas, starting Fall 2021. Dylan joined the Country Day community in 2017 and has excelled in academics and athletics. Over the last four years, Dylan has made 1st Team All-District in baseball and football all while serving as a student ambassador, co-chair of the Black Student Union (BSU), and as a member of the Green Club. However, what many of his coaches and teammates attest to more than his skill and talent, are his strength of character and ability to lead.

"Dylan has been a tremendous leader for the Country Day football team both on and off the field. I am extremely proud of his efforts and excited that he is able to continue playing a game he loves. I am confident that he will be an asset to the Arkansas Tech football team and will continue to make the Country Day Community proud,” said Country Day Head Football Coach Guy Lecompte.

“We are so proud of you, Dylan, for continuing to get to play the sport that you love. Dylan epitomizes a Country Day student-athlete by playing multiple sports while maintaining excellent grades. Good luck. I know you will do great things in the future. Go Cajuns!” shared Country Day Athletic Director Mike McGuire.
