Volleyball Team Wins Ninth Straight Championship Titles
The Metairie Park Country Day Volleyball Team won its ninth straight LHSAA Division V Volleyball State Championship on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Cajundome in Lafayette.
The Metairie Park Country Day Volleyball Team won its ninth straight LHSAA Division V volleyball state championship on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Cajundome in Lafayette. The #1 seeded team defeated #2 Westminster Christian in the state final for the third year in a row by winning the final two sets for a 23-25, 25-13, 21-25, 25-11, 15-7 victory in the LHSAA Division V State final. This victory secured the 15th State Championship for the Cajuns in 16 seasons.
Lia Beverly '25 was named Most Outstanding Player, with 18 kills, one block, and two aces during the match.
Thanks to the many students, faculty, staff, and parents who traveled to the Cajundome in Lafayette to cheer on the Cajuns, and congratulations to Head Coach Julie Ibieta, Assistant Coaches Dana Launey, Lauren Leaumont, and Myra Bordelon, and all of the members of the athletic department who helped make this victory possible.
