Girls' Team Places 5th at Indoor Track & Field State Meet

On February 21, 2026, the Country Day Indoor Track & Field team competed at the Division II State Meet. To qualify, athletes had to compete at an indoor meet and set one of the top 12 times in Division II, composed of classes C-3A. 

Girls' Team: As a team, the girls finished in 5th place with 23 points, securing both the individual State Champion Title and the State Runner-Up Title! 

• State Champion, 1600m: Varenka Zhuk '29 took home the state title (5:09.09), beating her own previous school record!
• State Runner Up, 800m: Coco Alvarado '29 (2:19.60)
• 4th Place, 4x400m Relay: Carlie Henderson '29, Lily Galliano '29, Varenka Zhuk '29, Coco Alvarado '29 (4:15.06)
• 5th Place, 800m Race: Varenka Zhuk '29 (2:26.50).
• 6th Place, 4x800m Relay:  Coco Alvarado '29, Lily Galliano '29, Camille Thionville '28, and Varenka Zhuk '29 (10:58.49) 
• 8th Place, 400m: Lily Galliano '29 (1:02.77)

Boys' Team: 

• 5th Place, Pole Vault: Joel Smith '27 (11'0")
