Peyton Katz '26 Named Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Scholar-Athlete

The Allstate Sugar Bowl Chapter of the National Football Foundation/College Hall of Fame held its 2026 Awards Luncheon presented by LCMC Health on Wednesday, April 22, where senior Peyton Katz was honored as an Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Scholar-Athlete.

 

Forty local high school football players were recognized for their achievements in the classroom, in the community, and on the football field. The honorees were chosen from a group of scholar-athletes from the New Orleans area who were nominated by their schools. Each of the 40 student-athletes was introduced individually, with their accomplishments highlighted at the event.

Peyton's academic achievements include National Honor Society, AP Scholar, Rensselaer Award Recipient, Country Day Cum Laude Society, and State Literary Rally. His athletic achievements include being a four-year letterman, a two-year starter, a team captain, and an all-district selection; he also lettered in basketball and track. Peyton's extracurricular activities include the Model UN Club, volunteering at Cancer Awareness, the Rowing Club, trombone in the school band, the School Choir, flag football coach, Special Olympics volunteer, and Barkus volunteer. Congratulations, Peyton!
