Two Country Day seniors, Anne Marie George and Madeleine Seal, have been named Semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Over 1.3 million juniors from about 21,000 high schools entered the 2026 program by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). This recognition, awarded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, honors the top PSAT scorers from each state, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. These students are now eligible to continue in the competition for approximately 6,930 scholarships available in the spring.
