Boys' Track & Field
The Country Day boys’ track and field program, under the exceptional leadership of Head Coach Maurice DuCarpe, has experienced a remarkable period of success, setting set several new school records in recent years. This success is a testament to the unwavering commitment from parents, stakeholders, administration, and coaches who continually support our athletes.
Our program is dedicated to honoring the essence of track and field through a steadfast commitment to excellence, community, and personal growth. We strive to transcend our efforts each year, fostering a team culture built on success and dedication. Our mission is to cultivate intrinsic motivation, empower confidence, and push our students to achieve levels they previously thought unattainable. Through this journey, we aim to create not only champions of the sport but also champions of teamwork and sportsmanship.
The 2023-24 season was a landmark year for the track and field teams, with both the girls' and boys' teams placing 6th in State and achieving several new state records and individual titles. Highlights of the season include:
- State Champion: Isaac Herzenberg '26 in Javelin (167' 1")
- State Runner-Up: Mason Zink '26 in the 800m, setting a new school record with a time of 1:58.88
- Third-Place State Finishes: Christian Myers '25 in the 1600m, setting a new school record (4:27.28), and Isaac Herzenberg '26 in Discus (143' 3.5")
- Christian Myers ‘25 set school records in the 1600m (4:27.28), 3200m (10:02.00), 3 Mile (XC) (15:13) and 5K (XC) (16:30) in 2023
- 4x800m Relay Team School Record: Mason Zink ‘26, Charlie Kazour ‘25, Christian Myers ‘25, and John-William Emmett ‘27 set a new school record in 2024 (9:01.10)
