Boys' Basketball

Boys Celebrate After a Team Win

The boys’ basketball program is a cornerstone of our athletic tradition, promoting excellence and camaraderie among student-athletes. With a proud history of state championships in 1977, 1980, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2019, our program shines as a symbol of success. Led by Head Coach Mike McGuire, players learn not only to excel on the court but also to embrace teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

Students can join the program starting in 5th grade, where they discover the joy of basketball while preparing for competitive play. This early foundation has led our Varsity team to 14 March Madness (Final 4) appearances, five State Championships, and three State Runner-Up trophies in the last 18 years.

Our commitment continues with recent graduates who embody our program’s spirit. Many alumni return to support the team, and some even come back to coach, sharing their knowledge with the next generation. This sense of community highlights the lasting impact of our basketball program.

In the 2023-24 season, the team finished as District Runner-Up and advanced to the Quarterfinals in the LHSAA State Championship. Individual accolades were also earned, with Hermon Dyson ’26, Brennan White ’26, and Maddox Moss ’24 being named to the All-District First Team.
