Tuition Assistance at Country Day

Yes, out of respect for your family’s privacy, the tuition assistance process is completely confidential.

We understand that each family faces unique circumstances, which is why we ask for as much of your financial information as possible. To determine how much aid your family will qualify for, we carefully review the details you’ve submitted. Our Director of Financial Aid is also available to answer your questions throughout the process.

If you qualify for tuition assistance, it will not cover the full cost of tuition. It also does not include fees such as those for lunches, books, transportation, or our aftercare program. Tuition assistance awards typically cover from 10%-60% of tuition for Pre-K and Kindergarten families and up to 80% for families with students in grades 1-12.

Although we do our best to accommodate as many families as possible with our available tuition assistance funds, we cannot guarantee we will be able to provide your family with its full demonstrated financial need.

You can expect to receive a mailed letter concerning tuition assistance in late March or early April. If you are awarded aid, please sign and return the letter to officially accept the award.

Note: You will not receive an award letter until your child has enrolled at Country Day. If the tuition amount you are awarded impacts your decision to enroll in Country Day, we will refund your enrollment deposit.  

If you are unable to provide your 2024 tax return, your file will be considered complete after we receive all of the other required information. The committee will review your application file and make a recommendation on your tuition assistance grant. After we receive a copy of your 2024 tax return, we will confirm the information. If we find the information does not match what was previously submitted, then we reserve the right to amend your tuition assistance award.

The Tuition Assistance Committee will consider the assets of all parents before making a tuition assistance decision and cannot be bound by the assertion that one parent has disclaimed responsibility for educational expenses. All parents — custodial and non-custodial, including biological, adoptive, and stepparents — must complete a PFS and submit all required paperwork.

No. Tuition assistance is a grant and does not need to be paid back to the school.

If all children in the household are of school age and a parent is currently unemployed, the Tuition Assistance Committee will assign that parent an income based on employment at a minimum-wage job.
