New Reily Recreation Center Opens 8/22/2002 In August 2002, the Country Day community celebrated the opening of the 2002-2003 school year in conjunction with the opening of a fabulous new facility - the Reily Recreation Center. The ceremony included performances by the Upper School Small Vocal Ensemble and the cheerleaders. David Drinkwater welcomed the crowd to the beautiful new facility and thanked the Reily families and the Reily Foundation for their leadership gifts that made the facility possible.
Tim Reily delivered remarks on behalf of the Reily family and expressed his pleasure at being able to support such a fine facility to enhance Country Day athletics. Country Day board members, alumni, parents and friends turned out in record numbers to show their appreciation for the Reily's support.
The Reily Recreation Center is named in memory of James Weaks Reily, II, and in recognition of the Reily family's longstanding relationship with the School. The Reily Recreation Center is a state of the art facility designed to support the steadily growing athletic and artistic accomplishments of Country Day's students. The Reily Recreation Center includes the following new facilities: girls and boys locker rooms, a dance studio, weight room, choral room, health/multipurpose classroom, training room, offices, laundry, consession stand, restrooms, a lobby and an observation gallery for filming games. The Reily Recreation Center will enhance our already strong athletic programs.
