  • Senior Jane Thompson is the Third Young Woman in Louisiana to be Named an Eagle Scout

    Eagle Scout represents the pinnacle of achievement in Scouting for young individuals. Merely about 5% of all Scouts ever attain this prestigious rank. Since its inception in 1912, over 2 million young men have earned the esteemed title of Eagle Scout within the Boy Scouts of America. Notably, in Louisiana, only four females have achieved this distinction, with Senior Jane Thompson standing as the third female in the state to receive this honor.
     
  • Senior Pierce Hatheway Appointed to U.S. Air Force Academy

    Each year, thousands apply to the U.S. Air Force Academy, but only a select few are chosen. We are excited to share that Senior Pierce Hatheway has been appointed to the Academy. ​Pierce’s appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy is equal to receiving a four-year, full scholarship at a top-tier university. His rigorous selection process included physical assessments, Congressional nomination, and interviews. At the Academy, appointed students undertake diverse programs like flying, parachuting, athletics, military training, and more while completing a comprehensive college curriculum. Upon graduation, they become second lieutenant officers in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force, serving in various career fields for at least five years. Congratulations to Pierce on this tremendous achievement and honor! 
     
  • Senior Phillip Antis Accepts a Premier Scholarship at Millsaps College

    Phillip, a 14-year veteran and soon-to-be graduate of Country Day, is going to Millsaps College, a small private liberal arts college in Jackson, Mississippi, as a recipient of its prestigious, merit-based Premier Scholarship. As Phillip quickly learned, the selection process was thorough, and the competition was intense. He said, “The Premier Scholarship is Millsaps’ most competitive scholarship with over 300 applicants, 32 finalists, and 16 scholarship winners.” 
     
  • Senior Sarah Heebe Awarded Prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship

    After a rigorous multistage selection process, senior Sarah Heebe has been awarded the esteemed Morehead-Cain Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This scholarship, renowned as the nation’s oldest and most prestigious merit scholarship program, covers all expenses for four years of undergraduate study at UNC and features four distinctive summer enrichment experiences. Scholars have the opportunity to complete an outdoor leadership course, carry out public service in the United States or abroad, conduct research at sites around the world, and gain experience in private enterprise.
  • Three Seniors Named National Merit Finalists

    Country Day is proud to announce that three seniors — Pierce Hatheway, Sarah Heebe, and Cooper Woods — have advanced to Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program, a national academic competition for recognition and scholarship that began in 1955. These students fulfilled several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition and will be considered for a National Merit Scholarship in the coming months. Congratulations, Cajuns! 
  • Five Cajuns Earn Post-Season Cross Country Accolades

    On the heels of the record-breaking 2023-2024 season, four Country Day cross country team members received All-State recognition. Christian Myers '25, Harry Odem '25, and Mason Zink '26 were named to the 2023 Louisiana Division IV Boys' All-State Cross Country Team, and Raine Goldenberg '25 was named to the 2023 Louisiana Division IV Girls' All-State Cross Country Team.

    Harry Odem '25, Christian Myers '25, Coco Goldenberg '25, Raine Goldenberg '25, and Stella Fuselier '29 received All-Metro Honorable Mention.

    Christian Myers '25 and Harry Odem '25 were also named to the GeauxPrep All-Small School Team.

      Congratulations to Jim Cummings (2005) for winning the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for his short film, Thunder Road! The Prize is awarded to one film in the program of 72 short films selected from 8,712 submissions.
