Jessica Womack 2010 has been selected by North Carolina State University as one of only 17 out-of-state recipients of the prestigious Park Scholarship. Please join us in congratulating Jessica on this outstanding honor.*

As reported on their Web site, “The Park Scholarships program provides a superb educational opportunity for exceptionally talented and well-prepared young men and women to develop leadership skills and commitment to public service. We will award approximately 50 scholarships this year, with two-thirds to North Carolina residents, to exceptional high school seniors for undergraduate study in any discipline at NC State based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.”

The Scholarship Benefits include:

Ash McCord 2011 and Andrew Shachat 2010 Receive Recognition In Scholastic Awards; Students Chosen In Prestigious Juried Program

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a program by The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, recently announced the regional level placement in their competition. Two Country Day students who also attend NOCCA were among the eleven NOCCA students receiving Gold Key Regional Awards. Of the eleven, Country Day had more Gold Key Regional Award Winners than any other independent school. Only the most accomplished works submitted to the regional programs earn Gold Keys.

Ash McCord won his award in the Poetry category, and Andrew Shachat won for his Writing Portfolio. The senior portfolio winners, including Andrew Shachat are eligible to compete for $10,000 scholarships for post-secondary studies.
