Our dynamic CajunCare Program is an extension of the experience we cultivate daily at Country Day. Through CajunCare, students continue to learn through a variety of fun, hands-on, age-appropriate activities while parents complete their day.

  • CajunCare Mornings

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday before-school care is available for lower school students from 7:15 am until the school day begins. On Wednesday, Before Care begins at 7:30 am. Students should be dropped off at the Lower School Atrium, where they will be signed in and partake in quiet activities such as reading, drawing, and/or supervised playground care. This service is offered free of charge, and students do not need to be pre-registered.
  • CajunCare Afternoons

CajunCare Afternoons offers lower school students safe, enjoyable, supervised play from the end of the school day until 5:30 pm every day. A snack is provided daily. Advanced enrollment is required; however, “drop-ins” are accepted if changed in SchoolPass before 2:00 pm, if there is space available. There will be a limited number of spots in aftercare per grade level. Parents will come to the Lower School Office to pick their child(ren) up and sign them out. In the event of an emergency or last-minute drop-in, please notify Kelsey Beahm in the Lower School Office so she can inform your child and your child's teacher of their dismissal change. Register for CajunCare Afternoons here.

    • 2 days/week: $480

*Please note that we will charge late fees for any child not picked up by 5:30 pm. Late fees will be $2 per minute up to 10 minutes and $10 per minute for every minute after the first 10 minutes. During Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, the $10 per minute doubles.

  • CajunCare Enrichment

CajunCare Enrichment provides a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for students in Pre-K through 5th grade to explore lessons and express themselves through individual and group participation in 10 weeks of unique, semester-long sessions such as creative arts, dance, theatre, sports, chess, writing, music, and technology. Please note that after-school enrichment classes can be difficult for some of our younger students. If we feel that it is not in the best interest of the class or the student, the principal will reach out to discuss the next steps. Class times vary, and details are sent out with registration. Students requiring care after their CajunCare Enrichment program ends should report to CajunCare Afternoons at no additional charge. Registration for CajunCare Enrichment will be sent at the beginning of August.
