National Merit Honors
12/8/2008
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has recognized three Country Day seniors, who have distinguished themselves in a national competition of 1.5 million students. Among this number of entrants in the program, only 34,000 are recognized as commended students. An even smaller number, 16,000 students, are recognized as semifinalists. Representing less that one percent of each state’s high school seniors, semifinalists are the highest-scoring program entrants in each state.

In the Class of 2009, William Richardson has been recognized as a Commended Student and Katie Kerut and Lindsay Guthrie have been recognized as Semifinalists. As Semifinalists, Katie and Lindsay are continuing in the competition to advance to the Finalist level. The Finalists will be announced in February 2009; the National Merit Scholars will be selected from the group of Finalists.
