Academic work is not the sole purpose of life in the Country Day upper school. Because we are a small school, it is easy for students to take advantage of our wide variety of extracurricular offerings in academics, athletics, the arts, and community service. A school like Country Day expects students to be involved in a number of different activities across different areas: our football players participate in the fall drama production and compete for the Science Olympiad team, our photographers sing in the Small Vocal Ensemble and play baseball, and our Student Senate representatives play in the Jazz Band. There is no way to describe a “typical” Country Day student, except to say that our students usually pursue a broad range of extracurricular activities while they are here. Country Day students work hard both in the classroom and beyond it to prepare themselves for a diverse, constantly changing world.
