Board Games Club
Faculty Sponsor: Mrs. Ricciardone
Purpose: To play board games in small groups.
Membership: This club is open to all Middle School students.
Book Buddies Club
Faculty Sponsor: Mrs. Wallace
Purpose: to organize and plan the reading of children’s books to Edisen House or K-2 children.
Membership: This club is open to all middle school students.
Book Club
Faculty Sponsor: Mrs. Dinh
Focus: To enjoy books together and have fun discussing them. Students will discuss books they have read and their favorite authors. Students will also select books that the club will read together to discuss at weekly meetings.
Membership: This club is open to all middle school students.
Chess Club
Faculty Sponsor: Mr. Benjamin
Purpose: To play chess. Students compete on weekends against area schools.
Membership: This club is open to all middle school students.
Free Voices
Faculty Sponsors: Mrs. Davis and Mr. Minihan
Purpose: Free Voices is an opportunity for Middle School students to discuss global issues and current events. The topics for discussion are student-generated.
Membership: This committee is open to all middle school students.
Good Samaritan Club
Faculty Sponsor: Mrs. Hannan
Purpose: To help others (for example, lower school teachers and children, new students). Students will choose projects to help the school community which may include recycling, study partners or others.
Membership: This club is open to all middle school students.
International Film Club
Faculty Sponsor: Mr. Hansen
Purpose: The (International) Film Club provides an opportunity to write, produce, and edit original films. It also provides an opportunity to view quality movies from around the world, from the turn of the century to the present, spanning a variety of genres.
Membership: This club is open to 7th and 8th graders. Previous experience with a camera and/or editing software is a plus, but not required.
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)
Faculty Sponsor: Mr. Harrison
Membership: his club is open to 7th and 8th grade students who will help educate the middle school community about the perils of poor decision-making. Tthe focus is on the dangers of substance abuse.
